Keeping
Cleveland Heights
in good repair!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Whether you have a lot of time to contribute--or just a bit--you can help facilitate Home Repair Resource Center's community mission and be part of "keeping Cleveland Heights in good repair." We can use help with our current rehab project, or you can fill out Home Repair Resource Center's "volunteer opportunities form" to give us a more general idea of your interests, skills, and time available. You can print out the form below, or we'll be happy to mail one to you. Just call us at 381-6100 or drop by our facility at 2520 Noble Road (two blocks north of Monticello, at the corner of Oxford Road) and pick one up.

Volunteer at a purchase-rehab project. On occasion HRRC is able to buy a seriously deteriorated foreclosed property to renovate and resell. Your efforts will help make quality restoration financially feasible.

____ I have willing hands, but no special expertise, I’d help with demolition, yard work or the like.

____ I have the following repair skill(s) I’d donate:
       ________________________________________________

Help with Fundraising. Your participation will help ensure sufficient resources to keep our programs operating!

____ I’d sponsor a request for a donation from my employer or place of worship, specifically:
       ________________________________________________
(We’ll draft the proposal, attend a meeting, answer questions or whatever will help, but it’s your personal contact that will open the door!)
____ I’d like to be part of planning a special event to raise funds for HRRC.
____ I’ll make a personal tax-deductible contribution, please send a donation envelope.
____ I’d help make phone calls (for HRRC’s annual Phonathon) to follow-up a letter and ask previous givers for their continued support. Training is provided and calling done in a group setting, usually in early February.

Lend a hand at our office. Your help in this way will extend our ability to provide community service.

____ I’d help with general office tasks. Tasks could range from helping with a mailing to answering phones one morning a week. We’ll call you to discover what you’d like to do.
____ I’d take part in a spring or fall “Group Clean-up the Yard Day,” to weed, trim and generally improve the exterior appearance of the facility.

Promote HRRC services to the community. Your efforts will help ensure that people know of the repair help HRRC offers.

____ I’d host a neighborhood meeting and invite HRRC staff to meet and talk with my neighbors!
____ I’d distribute publicity:
       ____on my street
       ____in my neighborhood
       ____at my place of worship
____I’d staff a table with HRRC information at a community event.
____ I’d be part of a committee that plans how to promote services to the community.

Assist A Family. On occasion, HRRC becomes aware of a family who cannot afford a loan payment or is elderly/disabled.

____ I have repair skills and would help on occasion (specify skills/experience)
       ________________________________________________

Provide Evaluation of Contractors. HRRC keeps Books with Evaluation Forms provided by Cleveland Heights residents. Our books, by repair topic, can help your neighbors find a contractor who does good work—and avoid one who does not!

____ I can help in this way. Please mail me ___ evaluation forms (specify #).

Participate with other attorneys on a Predatory Lending Task Force. One of HRRC’s dreams is to prevent predatory refinances in our community. There is no preset agenda; the Task Force would determine what actions to take.

____I am interested in serving on such a task force. When you gather sufficient names to call a meeting, let me know.

Serve on the Board and/or Board Committee.

Please indicate interest: ____Board of Directors ____ Marketing Committee ____ Fundraising Committee ____ Strategic Planning Committee.
The skills, interests and/or professional expertise I would bring include: (please use space below to describe & tell a bit about yourself.)
