HRRC’s HouseMender University series is designed to provide homeowners free advice from the experts. These seminars are open to residents of all communities, but reservations are requested. Upcoming sessions include:

Special Problems with Older Roofs

Jack DuShaw, Titan Roofing & Siding
Tuesday, September 30th, 7 pm
Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building, 3450 Lee Rd., Shaker Hts.

Come and learn about a variety of issues that homeowners can encounter with older roofs: ice dams; roof staining, moss, and mold; and repairs to historic materials like slate, tile, and shakes. (Note that this session will be held in Shaker Heights.)

New Windows? Maybe Not….

Wesley Walker, BPI, Home Repair Resource Center
Tuesday, October 28th, 7 pm
Home Repair Resource Center, 2520 Noble Rd., Cleveland Hts.

Thinking about replacement windows? Before you sign on the dotted line, come and learn what this project will — and won’t — do to reduce heating costs and/or make your home more comfortable. We’ll talk about when new windows are appropriate and when other measures may be a better option.
