Home Repair Resource Center offers workshops that focus on the special needs of seniors:


Classes will help seniors become more knowledgeable about their homes and better prepared to carry out needed maintenance and/or make their homes more sustainable. All classes will be held from 11 am to 12:30 pm (unless otherwise specified) at Home Repair Resource Center, 2520 Noble Road, Cleveland Heights.

Contracting Repairs

Wednesday, September 23rd

Learn how to work with contractors. We’ll talk about how to get estimates for home repairs, choose the one that provides the most benefit for the cost, manage the repair process, and make sure the work has been done correctly before releasing your funds.

Sewers & Wet Basements

Wednesday, October 7th

Although clogged storm sewers are not the only cause of a wet basement, they are one of the most common. We’ll discuss the various ways water can get into a basement, the low-cost remedies you should try first, and the difference between interior and exterior waterproofing.

Aging in Place

Wednesday, October 21st

Learn what modifications might allow you to remain in your present home despite the physical and mental changes that can come with aging. We’ll talk about features that can work for everyone (Universal Design) and where to find help in implementing home modifications.
